Staying Steady

& Finding Goodness in Uncertain Times

During trying times people try many things. Some of us try to maintain a positive attitude yet spin out whenever we hear a scrap of news. Some of us try to wait it out, hope it gets better, or ignore “what you can’t do anything about” (which ultimately feels crappy because it requires numbing out). Some people throw themselves into action and find themselves burnt out or overwhelmed. Some of us try to “find balance” by flip-flopping between numb and overwhelmed (also tiring!). Still… there is a way to honor this life even during difficult times.

This group is for people wanting connection in community to help stay steady, sane, and heart-centered.

Staying Steady & Finding Goodness in Uncertain Times
In-Person Group:

  • Stay connected with your heart and integrity rather than losing yourself in anxiety or numbed out activity

  • Enjoy being in a Compassionate Body Dialogue rather than arguing with your inner critic about what’s important to you in your life

  • Stay steady, grounded, and nourished amidst all of the unpredictability of political, personal, and family news

  • Access your body’s own innate wisdom for vitality, healing, connection, resiliency and yes, even joy

  • Come away with a toolkit for steadiness that you can make use of in any uncertain times

How’s this Group work?

You’ll learn hands-on skills for emotional self-care. You’ll gain enough understanding of the human nervous system to help yourself move from stress to regulation. Together we'll practice techniques to access your body's innate capacity to integrate and move through highs and lows. You’ll explore guided body-mindfulness practices, gentle movement, talking, journaling and/or art. You'll leave each session with simple mind-body healing knowledge that restores and settles.

Staying Steady & Finding Goodness

Participants say:

  • "I'm encouraged that something so simple makes a difference. I'm walking away with tools that I can actually use on a daily basis! Also, I liked meeting and learning along with everybody."

  • "What a relief to feel my heart, to connect with myself again. What a relief to have this personal healing in a group, where I didn't feel judged."

  • "Wow. The benefit I get from this group far outweighs the time each week. This has been so very helpful for keeping myself grounded and present. Thank you."

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I decide if group work is a good fit for me?

This group is a good fit if you read the description above and thought, yes I need this :-)

Group work is a good fit for many people because you learn from your own experience and from others. We need safe spaces during difficult times. Participants have described Amy’s group spaces as nourishing and healing. By sharing, witnessing, and being seen and heard in a group, you can grow stronger connections internally with yourself, as well as relationally with others.

How do I know if I need individual sessions rather than group work?

If you’re in crisis, or if the idea of being in a group is overwhelming to you, individual sessions might be a better fit. In individual sessions, you can work with me on specific situations, past traumas, and current challenges. Also, there are times that a combination of group work and individual sessions is perfect.

Are you going to offer this online soon?

Yes! Contact me if you want to be on the early notice list for that group.  My online groups are a good option for folks who can’t make it in-person, or for whom in-person meetings might feel too intimate or overwhelming.

Have other questions or not sure if this is a good fit?

Contact me directly! I’m happy to help you sort it out and get the help you need.

I’m a Somatic Experiencing professional, is this offering for me?

You are welcome in this group for your own personal growth! If you’re looking for professional guidance or sessions towards your SEP certificate, please check out my Group Case Consultations, or my 4-month program Getting Going with Somatics in Groups: Guidance for Somatic Professionals, or contact me for personal sessions or individual consults.
