Staying Steady in Uncertain Times

Are we there yet? The first weeks of the pandemic, I mostly heard people say things like, “it’s great to have more time with my kids,” and “it’s hard but it’s fun to be creative and do things differently.” Now it’s more like, “Everybody’s irritated with each other and my 3rd grader can’t figure out what her teacher wants on-line and neither can I.”

You might be feeling more sensitive, restless, or plain old stressed out than usual. You’re doing the best you can, but find yourself accidentally biting someone’s head off, or wanting to stick your own head in the sand and wait it out. But even that has an irritating edge to it, because you don’t know how long you’re going to have to wait, or what it’s going to be like when you’re done waiting.

Unknowns.

What to do? Life goes on, so you try to cope. You’re trying to avoid bad habits and go for healthy choices, like exercise, healthy good, good rest, maybe even meditation and yoga. But it’s hard to stay steady or truly feel replenished, even with the good stuff, when the daily uncertainties, challenges and changes keep throwing you off course.

So what helps? If you’re looking for relief and ease, a sense of meaning and purpose, to be more yourself, nourish your relationships, and have more enthusiasm for life, please join me for Staying Steady in Uncertain Times with the Compassionate Body Dialog 101.
